New Delhi: Designer Manav Gangwani managed a Bollywood coup of sorts at the third day of the ongoing Delhi Couture Week, with an array of celebrities present to cheer his An Affair To Remember collection.

Gangwani, who was the first designer to showcase his collection last night had his famous friends like Dia Mirza, Riteish Deshmukh, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Nikhil Dwivedi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aftab Shivadasani, Zayed Khan, Sanjay Khan and Sophie Chowdhury who clapped, whistled and bowed from the front row in the audience.

The show was a feast for women which showcased a variety of ranging from western to Indian wear. Elegant sarees, anarkali suits, stunning blouses, skirts, lehengas, fitted bodices with layers of fabric giving them a feminine element were on a display.

While there was a lot of bling in the collection, colours like red, gold, grey, turquoise blue, royal blue, fuchsia with swarovski elements dominated the ramp.

"The collection has been inspired by 1957 classic An Affair To Remember (starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr). The collection is dedicated to the woman, who is very sensuous and very free. It is my idea of a woman falling in love. Each garment is a show stopper in itself," said Gangwani.

Asked about the presence of Bollywood gang, Gangwani said, "They are friends and they are here for me and not the brand. We believe in each other and we know where to draw the line."

"I told him he does not need a showstopper, I was clapping with all my heart. Indian industry understands couture and this weekend finally I have seen stuff which is unrepeatable," said actor Zayed Khan.

Actor Nikhil Dwivedi said of the collection, "The collection for me had a lot of glitter and flamboyance. It looked like one big party on the ramp".
