The results have not been positive for BJP with the State Assembly polls this year. Congress has snatched a major share of votes which should be a topic of worry for BJP. With easily winning 10 seats in the 2019 elections, BJP failed to sweep the votes for this time. The party managed to get only 5 seats with reduced margins in Chandigarh. Aam Aadmi Party lost in a close fight whereas Congress made a comeback by winning 5 seats in Chandigarh. Main reasons for losing the seats in Chandigarh were farmer’s issue, old pension scheme and Agnipath scheme.
